Two Local Industries Receive Grant Awards
Carolina Table Company & Craig Industries have recently received grant awards totaling more than $42,000 in funds, which will help to support their existing workforce training needs. The grant funds are part of the Incumbent Worker Training Program that is administered by the Pee Dee Regional Council of Governments in cooperation with local government participation and economic development agencies.
“We are excited about the recent grants that were awarded to Carolina Table & Craig Industries. Both companies have been long time corporate citizens of the Town and have provided jobs to many of our local citizens.
Bobby Hudson, Mayor Town of Lamar
“Both companies are an essential component of the industrial community in the Town of Lamar and Darlington County. Training of the existing workforce is often overlooked by companies who are competing in the global marketplace and these funds will assist in improving their existing skill sets to match current trends in manufacturing and technology.’
Dave Bailey, Director Darlington County Development Board
“I am extremely pleased that Craig Industries and Carolina Table have received these grant awards. They are the backbone of the industrial base here in Lamar and with the economy being in such a flux over the past several years, these funds will go long way in assisting their growth.”
Victor Pizzurro, Development & Planning Director Town of Lamar
